Cherryl Beth (Busby) Patten
Cherryl Beth Patten, a lifetime resident of
Whatcom County, passed away at home, surrounded by her family
and friends, in Bellingham on Sunday, December 16, 2007. She was
57, born in Bellingham on July 3, 1950, to Helen (Knibbs) and
Ernest Busby. Cherryl graduated from Bellingham High School in
1968. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi, Bellingham
Chapter. She worked at WWU for 30 years. Every July since 1975,
Cherryl and John spent a vacation in Hawaii. She loved her 2 dogs,
entering contests, taking pictures, traveling, and visiting with
family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father. Cherryl
is survived by her husband John, whom she married on August 3,
1970; son Shawn Patten, daughter Cassie (Mike) Erga; mother Helen
Busby; brother Bill Busby; 5 nieces and nephews; and many cousins,
including Kay (Norm) Johnston and David (Cheryl) Ousley. Cherryl's
life will live on through family and friends with the memories
of her life. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday,
December 21st, at Bayview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Whatcom
Hospice, 800 E. Chestnut, #1-C, Bellingham, 98225. You may share
